  1. In June 2009 Bank of America abruptly raised its fee for a basic checking account by 50 percent. Citibank jacked up the interest rate on some of its cards to 29.99 percent. And JPMorgan Chase more than doubled the required minimum payment on its cards.Across the board, big bank fees have skyrocketed to their highest levels on record, including assessments for such common occurrences as overdrafts (as high as $39), stop-payment actions ($39 — double what it was 10 years ago), balance transfers (up more than 50 percent in the past year) and ATM use (nearly doubled in 10 years).
It’s great to see a simple video give local banking the attention it deserves.

Not only are centralized banks funding pollution, they’ve got all kinds of ways they add insult to injury: In June 2009 Bank of America abruptly raised its fee for a basic checking account by 50 percent. Citibank jacked up the interest rate on some of its cards to 29.99 percent. And JPMorgan Chase more than doubled the required minimum payment on its cards.

It’s great to see a simple video give local banking the attention it deserves. We can help our communities and stop the damage – to our planet and our pocket books.

It’s great to see this information getting out.

  3. When you bring your money back to locally owned and operated businesses and institutions, you will take back control of your regional environmental and economic potential. Wall Street has economically colonized much of the world. Until we understand taking back our communities starts with banking locally and supporting Locally owned businesses, we will fall prey to a corrupt Wall Street monopolized world.

Excellent video. Keep up the good work…..Eric

  4. Amazing***

Kyle this video is so important and inspiring!

I changed to a local bank and I love it, they actually know who I am when I call.

Thank you for making this, hope it spreads like a wild fire!!

  5. I was so shocked from what I learned about the agendas of international banks and after watching this video, which kyle did a great job with by the way, I changed my banks. I immediately took my money out of Bank of America and put it into a local bank, Santa Cruz County Bank.
When I had an account with Bank of America I would be charged and fined for every movement of money and change of my account. Not only that, but they never tell you where that money is going, I had to find out through a u-tube video!
As soon as I switched to SC County Bank I felt confident as to where my money was and if my money is funding a program or event, I’ll know about it. These programs are usually for great causes anyhow, such as Habitat for Humanity or Meals on Wheels. I fell in love with them basically, haha.
So thanks for the great info kyle and I hope that others will make a change for the better as well. It doesn’t take much to make a difference.
    peace

  6. Super duper epic video!

The lies behind the truth of the banking systems are being exposed… DOWN WITH THE CORPORATOCRACY!

But serioulsy, we can also take back our power by powering ourselves. We can produce electricity on a small scale with biogas or wood gas.

If we use less electricity, or better produce our own clean energy, we will kill the need for coal power or any centralized power distribution system, and possibly save waves like those in Chile.

  7. Great Video! I have always miss trusted the big banks. And when CHASE recently entered California, I knew we were in trouble. They help to fund many projects that are not globally conscious. Don’t keep your head in the sand, join your local credit unions. Our whole family and many friends use our local Redwood Credit Union, they sponsor not only local projects, but are fair minded to our cause. The LGBTQI community too.

  8. Thank Kyle and ryan for an inspirational Video. Also thanks to Neal Kearny for putting this in our local paper. Lets get this national. I have a savings acuont with Bof A which I will be closing !st thing monday morning. Thanks to all of you invoved. Great job!!!!

  9. great. i closed all my big bank accounts and opened an account with New Resource Bank in San Francisco. Not only are they small but they are trying to be as green as they can. And get this….they ANSWER their phones. Really.

  10. You just inspired me to change to a local bank. That’s some truly great work you just did there! Thank you!

  11. I continue to be thankful for the information sharing that you guys are doing. Kyle and Ryan have hit a home run with this piece, and I am thankful for the empowering effect it has had on me in this moment. There are millions of Human Beings that feel helpless and hopeless in this banking system. It is not a matter of wanting to do something different but where can I start, and how do I see the power in the action of moving my money for myself? How do I see the change when I move my money if so many others continue to use these banks? I want to believe but there is fear of pain and disappointment. Dare I believe that by transferring $156.00 from a bank worth billions will make any difference. Well it will. The $156.00 itself is of a smallness when set against the back drop of billions, but this is only one truth. I as a Human Being I carry a powerful force of energy within me. I have the power to choose, and when I choose to give my trust or love to anything then the value or energy level of that object goes up. When I deposit my money into a bank, yes, I am giving them money but my Spiritual Being is send energy of trust and dreams of success because I want my money to be held and for it to continue to grow and I want it safe. When I take my monies out or away then something also happens inside of me. The energy that I was sending that bank has shifted and that is where the power lies. When we collectively stop believing in these banks then they will no longer have the power to destroy life and new agreements can be made as to what role the banking system plays in our world. What must be remembered is that the banks are not evil nor are the people running them. Each of us are born into this world and we are trained and educated to do these things. We are all effected by this environment and so as we move to make these needed changes we must remember to hold each other in the change. We do not want to destroy anything, but we must focus on the energy of love and play, and then begin the fun of CREATING the banking system that supports and protects the interests of all Life.

    • “I as a Human Being I carry a powerful force of energy within me. I have the power to choose, and when I choose to give my trust or love to anything then the value or energy level of that object goes up.”

      That’s beautiful. Right on!

  12. Hey Kyle,

Absolutely great film. I never thought I would see corporate lending practices and surfing in the same flick. This is a really wonderful eye opener drawing the connection between our money and our environment.

  13. Excellent presentation, very inspiring, I think your message is very clear and powerful. Keep spreading the message! It will be a shame if we loose the battle. I will definitely move my money to a local bank.
Thanks for the info, great work!

  14. Thanks so much making this movie. Anything to save these amazing waves in Chile is a blessing for surfers and the local people alike. I am studying down in southern Chile right now and in fact probably going to surf the wave from video tomorrow unless we go further south. Anyways keep up the good work and hopefully more generations will get to enjoy the beauty of the coast down here.

    buena onda,
    ryan

  15. Great video! It is short, clear, informing, and has some beautiful imagery. Happy to see you are working to bring awareness and action to the people.

  16. Excellent video Kyle & Ryan. I just sent this to the Huffington Post [ online news ] after they ran a headline about how we should all be supporting local community banks, credit unions, etc.
    Maybe you’ll get more exposure!

  17. Nice work you guys! I got your website and several other sites showing the corruption of the big banks and the destruction they are doing. I am onboard and transferring my money locally!

  18. I didn’t know this was a movement until I saw coverage on The Colbert Report. I withdrew all my money from Bank of America last year, and closed all my accounts with them, as well as American Express. They truly screwed me over when an automatic payment got processed (on THEIR end) 2 days late, and they sky rocketed my interest rates. I called and pleaded with them for months, while still paying the outrageous fees, to reduce the rate and refund some of my money. **They were taking over 500$ a month in just interest alone!** It took me not paying them a single penny for 3 months before they would even negotiate with me. I kept refusing as it was never even my fault, and asked 5 months before for help. 4 months after defaulting, they finally made a deal to keep it fixed at 0% interest until I paid it off, no strings attached, no late fees or due dates.

It took ruining my credit and 9 months total of a lot of people’s time, money, energy, and stress. And for what? It could have just been as simple as a refunded 35$ late fee, and returning my interest back to the fixed 8% it was always supposed to be (and not 29%!) and I’d still be making my payments, have my accounts with them, and have my once excellent credit rating back.

I’m still miffed that 3000$ of that is still fees and interest that should never have been tacked on in the first place. Now they wont make a single penny off me, and I will pay them back when I damn well please. They still call me like 5 times a day and harass me about when I’m sending my next payment. I guess they like seeing it in their system as being scheduled. Too bad. I’m not going to appease them, as they did nothing to help me. I’ll make my payments in silence and autosend all their calls to voicemail. At least some employee is getting paid for pointless job with benefits on the other end. I hate them. I hate everything they stand for and I hate them for the stress and anguish they put me through.

**PLEASE EVERYONE: CLOSE YOUR BOFA ACCOUNTS**
THEY ARE THE SHADIEST THUGS AND BULLIES ON THE MARKET AND OUR TAX DOLLARS CONTINUE TO PAD THEIR POCKETS

My local credit union, on the other hand, has been spectacular in their service. I’m glad I switched. (Sandia Laboratories Federal Credit Union)
